Club Activities
To give students an opportunity to showcase and hone their talents and also prepare them for Intra School Competitions, various Club Activities Sessions are conducted through the year. Club activities not only help students shape their personal interests and hobbies but also improve their leadership and social skills.
SAM Universal students are exposed to a variety of opportunities to involve themselves in a plethora of activities round the year. Participation in such activities teaches each child essential life skills such as effective time management, leadership, communication and the ability to interact and develop relationships.
The President, Vice President, Secretary and Assistant Secretary for each club is interviewed and selected by the Principal , Admins and the teachers. The selected students plan the activities for the year. Students share their ideas and enjoy learning from each other during the club periods. Mentor teachers guide them at every step. Experts are also invited to share their ideas with the students.
At the end of the year, each club puts up a programme and the three best displays are awarded with trophies. We offer the following Club Activities every Saturday:
The Literary Club aims at not only refining the literary skills of the students but also developing in them logic and curiosity to know more and to instil in them a confidence to speak well. Learning enhances and becomes pleasurable if integrated with functional and practical experience. Keeping this in view, the formation of a literary club as a part of the school curriculum is certainly a step taken to keep pace with the changing trends in the field of education.

- To promote harmonious attitude towards group work leading to cohesion and improvement in interpersonal skills.

If you want to create your own computer graphics, no matter how simple or complex, you have to know a few things about computers, computer graphics, and how they work. Animation involves creation of images from as simple as a leaves falling from a tree to a full fledged online computer game. The application of this form of creation is varied and its scope unlimited.
Skills are taught by expert teachers and experienced professionals from different walks of the animation industry. Students are thus exposed to the best of both academic and professional worlds before testing themselves. As these courses are hands-on the knowledge gained is appropriate to take on real life assignments. A thorough knowledge on animation techniques prepares the groundwork to take on actual assignments with ease. It helps students in building their confidence and prepare for tougher jobs.
Drama is a collaborative form of fine art that sees live performers presenting the experience of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place, often a stage. The performers may communicate this experience to the audience through a combination of gestures, speech, song, music, and dance. Elements of art, such as painted scenery and stagecraft such as lighting are used to enhance the physicality, presence and immediacy of the experience. Keeping these traditions of drama in mind, the students of the Dramatics Club at Sarala Birla Academy meet on Saturdays to hone their thespian skills.
The school disaster management club aims to identify and manage hazards in the school, prepare and respond to emergencies in school, and to mitigate the effect of disasters on the school. Disaster management planning begins with awareness on the part of teachers and students.
Objectives
- To make students aware about symptoms and prevention of different disasters.
- To provide ample opportunity to handle the situation during any emergency.
- To provide the students as a leader of tomorrow so as to overcome any kind of national calamity.
- To infuse a sense of preparedness among the Learners.
- To inculcate values among learners to reach and volunteer services in disaster affected areas.
- To inculcate the spirit of collective action and joint decision making among students.
The mission of this club is to promote and preserve the heritage of our country , through story, lecture, enacting, visiting historical places to gain information etc., It encourages discussions on different ancient cultures at meetings and brings in an ancient history specialist to discuss their knowledge.
A school parliament provides an opportunity for students to be involved in school governance and decision making through a group of democratically elected students who represent the views of all students at the school. The parliament provides an opportunity to :
- Involve students in democratic processes and decisions making within the school;
- Demonstrate the importance of representation and active involvement in the school community;
- Democratically elect student representatives;
- Develop student leadership and communication skills;
- Give a forum for the presentation of student ideas and opinions on school policies that directly impact students;
- Improve the school community by addressing student issues and concerns; and
- Support the teaching of the Australian Curriculum Civics and Citizenship strand.
We aim to develop the next generation to become responsible, influential and inspiring leaders. One of the greatest challenges we are facing is environmental change. It is our aim to instill a sense of awareness in children today, from the youngest Nursery to the oldest XII class student, This programme works in school with an aim to utilize all available resources effectively and judiciously.

- Directing the energy and focus of the child in the right direction.
- To create an awakening in the young minds for preserving and conserving natural environment and to make them more sensitive towards surroundings.
- To create awareness of biodiversity conservation and local environmental issues among schoolchildren.

- To involve Eco Club students in open-orientation programmes in schools and public areas.
Mathematics is a rich and multifaceted subject, with a variety of applications in occupational, practical, and/or simply recreational fields. One important aspect of learning mathematics is mastering practical techniques, such as addition, division, measurement, and so on. Critical thinking skills may be required to apply these techniques to complex problems. Our purpose is to promote interest and excitement about mathematics in a friendly, collaborative environment!

- To organise various activities: Maths Quiz, projects etc.

The Cookery Club is a vivid platform where members not only learn the art of cooking but also realise the enormity of the task that their mothers have at home and hence learn to value and love them more than ever before.
At SBA, it is our endeavour to make students learn all life skills and hence, we have a Cookery Club as part of our extra-curricular activities. The SBA Cookery Club is in session every Saturday and the members — our little chefs —are baptised into the world of cooking as we teach them the basic culinary etiquettes. They are familiarised with various culinary tools and appliances as also the distinct styles of cooking.
Dramatic club is a platform to indulge in fantasy, study human nature and make lasting friendships. Through participation in Drama, students develop their capacities of expression and imagination, learn to focus on and use their senses. The club produces plays of high artistic merit and performs them occasionally. It has numerous stage plays and awards to its credit. Staging famous and challenging plays, scripting original ones on issues of social concern, organising theatre workshops- an innovative actor training programme; Dramatic club has carved its niche in the beauty of art, emotion, expression and above all coordination of fine thoughts.
